Sh. Vikas Bhardwaj, District & Sessions Judge, Kullu

Born on 12th March, 1972 at Dharamshala, District Kangra to Smt. Pushp Lata and Late Sh. Santosh Kumar Bhardwaj. Did his initial schooling from Sacred Heart High School Dharamshala, run by the Convent of Jesus and Mary. Passed his Senior Secondary examination from the Kendriya Vidyalaya Dharamsala Cantt. in 1989, in Science Stream. Graduated in Science (Medical) from D.A.V. College Chandigarh, in the year 1992. Pursued studies in law from Campus Law Center, University of Delhi, and obtained LL.B degree in the year 1996. Has throughout been an active participant in various curricular, co-curricular and sports activities achieving several distinctions of merit. After enrollment with Bar Council of Himachal Pradesh, practiced as an advocate in the Hon’ble High Court of Himachal Pradesh, in various fields of law including Civil, Criminal Constitutional and revenue matters, and also in matters relating to Consumer Protection, Arbitration, Company law etc. Conducted cases for various prominent companies and institutions. Remained Special Counsel for the State of Rajasthan in the Hon’ble High Court of Himachal Pradesh for cases relating to Pong Dam acquisition. Practiced as such till August, 2014. Appeared in Himachal Pradesh Higher Judicial Services Examination, 2014 and qualified the said examination by securing first position. Appointed as Additional District and Sessions Judge, on 22nd September, 2014 and posted as Additional District and Sessions Judge-II, Una. Assumed charge as such on 1st October, 2014 (F.N). Transferred and posted as an Additional District and Sessions Judge Ghumarwin and joined as such on 13th May, 2016 (FN) and thereafter posted as the Registrar (Judicial) in the Hon’ble High Court of Himachal Pradesh and joined as such on 3rd December, 2018. Transferred and posted as District and Sessions Judge Hamirpur HP and joined as such on 11th March 2022. Presently posted as District and Sessions Judge, Kullu, H.P since 3rd June 2024.
